do all carriage clocks chime?
2 Answers
No, they don't all chime. There are several varieties of carriage clocks..some with and some without chimes.

The two most common chimes are the Westminster chime, and the Bim Bam. Many carriage clocks come with a choice of either of these chimes.

When you select the Westminster chime mode, the chime will sound every 15 minutes and play a part of the melody. The full melody is played on the hour plus the hour count. The bim-bam mode sounds on the half hour and hour plus counts the hour.

A nice feature on some clocks is the ability to 'turn off' the chime...which you can do completely, or maybe just at night.

There are clocks that don't have a chime at all...so the choice is up to you which type of clock you prefer.

Hope that answers your question!

Cheers!
No not all carriage clocks chime and the ones that do chime comes with different chimming options like westminister or bim bam are some of the popular chimes and most have night volume so they will not disturb you at night if you are not use to them.
